On July 9, 1981, Magatzems l’Escala was founded. The name L’Escala comes from being next to the public staircase that connects the upper parking lot with the store’s front parking lot. Initially, there wasn’t as much product variety as today. They mainly sold cassettes and records.

In the late 80s, a comprehensive reform was carried out, including the name change, becoming L’Escala Electronic Store, offering a look closer to what we can see today.
